Mehdeeka covers B2B, SaaS, and startup/tech marketing. Check out the previous issue; finding in-product opportunities for marketing. Help me grow Mehdeeka by sharing it with a friend or colleague!
Before I leave your inbox for a few weeks (if you missed it, I’m taking an end of quarter break, and Mehdeeka will be back in 3 weeks), I wanted to leave you with a reminder of how far we’ve travelled together, and remind you to fill out my reader survey if you haven’t already!
I really appreciate the feedback, and will be using it when I come back to improve the newsletter. But really, how can I improve when I’ve got bangers like these:
In this issue I put out a request to neobank customers to tell me why they chose to use that bank, and then compared it with the banks’ ad messaging. Stacy Goh was very kind to also send me her learnings from when she was a fintech marketer.
Super related to Stacy’s learnings are these 5 emotions to use when constructing your messaging. Recommended reading that follows up on this is my Lessons from Disney’s CEO issue which also touched on messaging and strategy.
If we’re going to talk about ad messaging, we should also revist ad design.
Since I wrote this I have worked even more on my relationship with our sales team, and regularly listening to their sales calls and letting them know what content we already have available and which lead it’d be suitable to send it to has been something that has made a noticable impact.
This is maintly interviewing tips to be honest, and the rest is on product copy writing. A difficult yet extremely valuable skill!
Speaking of product marketing, this interview with product manager Ben Wirtz, on how product and marketing teams can work together, was super popular and has a lot in it.
Self editing your work is basically impossible, but checklists can help to make that process easier.
In this issue I went into the concept of Share of Voice (SoV) and how PR and social media factor into it.
That’s all from me for a while! A final reminder to complete my reader survey so I can improve Mehdeeka (it’s only 7 multiple choice questions), and if reading today’s issue has reminded you how much entertainment/joy/new perspectives Mehdeeka has brought you over the past quarter, or longer, you can buy me a coffee to say thanks by clicking here.
Bye for now!
